As part of my project, I have developed a blog on the history of skiing. The Lift Line is a place where I think through my current research. The content often reflects sources I have been reading in the past few weeks. The blog also is a place where I try to share critical histories of skiing that are rarely covered in the pages of other magazines, blogs, and sites dedicated to skiing’s history. Rather than simply tell the story of skiing, I attempt to build narratives that place skiing within larger historical trends, or which use skiing to interpret the past.
